About Delta Phi Epsilon

On March 17, 1917, five women from New York University Law School took a pledge of loyalty and founded Delta Phi Epsilon, one of the first nonsectarian social sororities and the only one founded at a professional school. From the notes of our founders, Delta Phi Epsilon was formed “for the purpose of promoting good fellowship among sorority women to help in acquiring knowledge, appreciation, discriminating judgment and a true feeling of sisterly love, through the interaction of sympathetic and friendly natures.”

The Beta Omega Chapter was founded at SJU in 1998. 24 founding sisters sought to fulfill the need they had for values our sorority represents. Dedication, Pride, Excellence, Justice, Sisterhood and Love. They had a need for a sisterhood that would showcase how strong they were as individuals, but also gave them the support for personal development. Delta Phi Epsilon has provided all of that, and more!

  The PEARL Program

Sisterhood - Self - Scholarship - Social - Service -Personal Development Pearls.

To achieve a PEARL, you must engage in an activity that encompasses the meaning of the S, such as volunteering at a local hospital would count as a service pearl. PEARL stands for Personal Enrichment Activity for Responsible Living.

The PDP is a long term goal that a sister will work on over the course of the year.  PDPs are focused around something that a sister wants to personally improve upon in her life. Examples of this would be learning to play an instrument, learning another language, train for a marathon at the end of the year, or perform in a community theater production.

The PEARL program gives members the opportunity to expand their personal experiences and become a stronger individual with thesupport of their sisters.
