Zero Tolerance on Hazing!

St. John's University on Hazing:

ARTICLE VIII. HAZING

All forms of hazing, new/associate member day and/or pre-initiation activities, which are defined as hazing shall be banned.

Hazing is defined as any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or ridicule. Such activities and situations include creation of excessive fatigue; physical and psychological shocks; wearing, publicly, apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and jokes; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities.

Delta Phi Epsilon Int'l Sorority on Hazing:

No chapter or colony, collegiate or alumna, shall conduct or participate in hazing activities. Hazing is defined as an action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off campus or sorority premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following:

paddling in any form; creation of excessive fatigue; physical and psychological shocks, quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips and other activities carried on outside or inside the confine of the chapter house, the forced wearing in public of apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste, engaging in public stunts and buffoonery, morally degrading or humiliating games and activities which are not consistent with state, federal or local law, sororal law, ritual policy, or regulations and policies of the educational institution.

Delta Phi Epsilon goes on record as having a strong opposition to any form of hazing or situation that may be construed as any form of hazing. It is, therefore, incumbent upon each and every chapter/colony and sister, new member, alumnae, and advisor, to prevent any form of hazing.
